Doris Usui is an actor and print model residing in Los Angeles, California. From business executive and entrepreneur to homemaker and yoga teacher, Doris' experiences help her play diverse roles in films, TV, theater, commercials, and print. She loves combining her passion for improv and acting into her projects.
As a native of Los Angeles, Doris' parents immigrated from Canton, China. She's married and the mother of two grown children. Having spent ten years living in Canada with her family, Doris holds citizenship for both countries.
Playing the quintessential “Asian Mom or Grandmother”, Doris has starred in many television shows and films including HACKS, How I Met Your Mother and Strong Medicine. She's also been featured in national commercials and print ads for McDonald's, Target, Charles Schwab, Home Depot, Quaker Oats, ULTA, Wells Fargo, Chase, and Verizon. She was even on the cover of TIME Magazine.
Doris has trained at the Second City Conservatory and lends comedic talent to acting and directing the April's Fools Comedy Improv Troupe as well as teaching improv in the South Bay. She has also studied under Killian McHugh, Scott Sedita, Howard Fine, Jean Louis Rodrique, Margie Haber, Courtney Burr, Stuart K. Robinson and Terry Berland.
